A restaurant with a family atmosphere in the city center
From a small rural family restaurant to a downtown restaurant. But how did it start?
Our family has a rural restaurant and pizzeria, Tulipán Café Izsák. This is where the motivation came from: I also wanted to pursue this field, so I studied Tourism and Hospitality and moved to Budapest, where I graduated in this major at Kodolányi János University.
During my university years I grew to love the city, and I decided that I wanted to start something new here. The Parliament and its surroundings have always been close to my heart, as it is one of the most beautiful buildings not only in Europe, but in the world. It wasn’t difficult to decide that I wanted to open my own restaurant in this area, where I could bring everything I learned from my family.
We built the restaurant step by step from the ground up. In the beginning, we started with a fusion of Hungarian and Italian cuisine, then we also operated as a pizzeria. But over time, we recognized the needs of our guests and it turned out that what they are looking for in the city center is Hungarian cuisine. We have reformed the menu and we place an important emphasis on the needs of our guests, so we are constantly adapting our offer accordingly. Thanks to our rural background, we know the traditions, customs and flavors of the countryside better, which we can use to a sufficient extent when preparing our own dishes.
Our restaurant is popular among tourists (we would like to thank you for the many positive and constructive reviews that you can read on our Google profile. ) but we also try to provide an unforgettable taste experience for our Hungarian guests.
